QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know before booking.

Not necessarily. Face-to-face sessions take place at Barnet Copthall Gym in North West London. For online coaching, your programme is built around whatever you have access to — a gym, home equipment, or minimal kit. We work with your reality, not an ideal setup.

Only if the plan fits your life. Generic plans, rigid routines, and advice that ignores your culture, schedule, or health rarely stick. What works is coaching built around how you actually live — with support between sessions, not just during them. That's what the difference is here.

Answer: Rates vary widely — typically £40–£80 per session for face-to-face, and £50–£200+ per month for online coaching depending on what's included. At SangShah Fitness, face-to-face and pay-as-you-go sessions are £70, the 12-session block works out to £60 per session, and the 8-week online plan is £195 in total. Everything includes direct access, session reviews, and nutrition guidance — not just a programme.

Yes — and some of my most committed clients felt exactly that way when they started.

One client came to me post-surgery, managing grief, and facing a serious health challenge. The gym felt like the last place she wanted to be. What changed her mind was one thing I said at the start: you will leave every session — with me or without me — feeling energised, not like you've dragged yourself through it.

That's a promise I keep. If an exercise doesn't feel right, we find out why and change it — sometimes it's the movement entirely, sometimes it's something as small as a handle position or body angle. Nothing is forced. Everything is explained. And when the hard days come — the days where nothing feels worth it — showing up anyway and leaving feeling better than you arrived is often exactly what shifts things.

She now goes in by herself. Regularly. That's what this is about.

Absolutely. Most of my clients come to me after years of stopping and starting. The whole approach is built around meeting you where you actually are — not where you think you should be. We start with what's manageable and build from there.

Yes — and this is exactly who I work best with. Stress management is built into how I coach, not bolted on as an afterthought. Both the 8-week plan and the 12-session block are tailored around your lifestyle, including the unpredictable weeks. The goal is a plan that bends without breaking — so when life gets loud, you're adjusting, not starting over. Again.

Everything lives in the MyPTHub app — your programme, session notes, form cues, and progress tracking. You can message me directly through the app, send form review videos, and I review your solo sessions too. The app is completely free for you to use. Once you sign up I'll set up your account and you'll complete a PAR-Q form covering your medical history — required for insurance and essential for tailoring your programme properly.

Yes — included across the 8-week plan and 12-session block. I don't take an elimination approach. We build awareness first, then gradually adjust, then look at balance across protein, carbohydrates, and good fats. Advice is always culturally aware and built around your actual diet.

Yes. I have experience working with clients managing Type 2 diabetes, MS, fibromyalgia, post-surgical recovery, ADHD, desk-related postural pain, and chronic stress. Every programme is built around the person — not a template. Mention your condition when you book your consultation and we'll discuss how to approach it properly.

I believe you should genuinely enjoy every exercise you do. If something doesn't feel right, message me through the app. We'll work out why and find an alternative that achieves the same outcome. There's always another way.

It depends on your goals, but here's an honest and realistic guide:

Within 2–4 weeks you'll likely notice you feel stronger during sessions — that's your nervous system adapting and getting more efficient before any visible changes happen. Sleep often improves around this point too.

Around 4–6 weeks the energy shifts become more noticeable in daily life. That 4pm slump starts to ease. You reach for a third coffee less often. Your knees and joints feel less stiff — because the muscles supporting them are getting stronger and your body is moving more fluidly. You'll start to notice you just move better.

Around 8–12 weeks other people start to notice. Not always because of dramatic physical change — but because of how you carry yourself, how you stand, how your clothes are starting to fit a little differently. You'll find yourself wanting to move more and not quite understanding why. That's habit forming.

At 4–6 months of consistent training, body composition changes become visible — to you and to others. Fat percentage starts to drop, muscle mass increases, and clothes fit noticeably differently. This is also where weight loss tends to show if that's a goal — but it's a byproduct of the strength and habit work, not the other way around.

I never push measurements if tracking numbers will have a negative impact. Progress is real long before a scale or tape measure confirms it — and for most people, how they feel is the most meaningful measure of all.

Within a couple of days. Send your video through the app and I'll come back with specific, detailed feedback on what's working and what to adjust.

Some muscle soreness 24–48 hours after a new exercise is normal — your body adapting. With repetition it reduces significantly. I don't coach a culture of dragging yourself out of sessions. You should leave feeling worked but energised, not destroyed.

Yes — always tailored to your specific needs and goals. No one-size-fits-all approach.

I don't charge for cancellations on the 1:2:1 sessions — life happens. I just ask for as much notice as you can give. Any missed sessions within a block roll over, so nothing is lost. For the 12-session block you can pay per block or monthly — just confirm your preference before the end of the month so I can apply the right rate.

Yes — and this is an area where having the right training support genuinely matters. I work with clients currently on these medications and what I've learned in practice goes beyond the standard advice.

The primary risk with weight loss injections is muscle loss. When appetite is suppressed and caloric intake drops, the body can break down muscle alongside fat without resistance training to signal otherwise. Strength training during your injection cycle helps preserve and build muscle while losing fat — better body composition, not just a lower number on the scale.

But how you train matters as much as whether you train. Here's what I've learned working with clients on these medications:

Energy levels vary week to week — and session to session. Some days you'll manage 10 reps at a given weight. Others, 5 is the right number. I teach clients to read their own energy and adjust accordingly rather than pushing through and paying for it the next day. Progress isn't always linear and that's completely normal on this medication.

Some clients experience tingling sensations or joint fatigue. When this happens we lower the rep range and slow the tempo down — slower, more controlled movement reduces joint stress while still giving the muscles the stimulus they need. Nothing is forced.

Cardio needs to be managed carefully. When you're already in a caloric deficit from reduced appetite, excessive cardio accelerates muscle loss rather than fat loss. I keep cardio purposeful and proportionate — enough to support cardiovascular health, not so much that it works against the strength work.

Nutrition around sessions matters more than people realise. Dairy consumed the night before or just before a session can cause heaviness and bloating — because at lower food volumes it takes longer to digest and can sit heavily. I advise clients to favour lighter protein sources before training. Plant-based protein or a simple whey isolate tends to work better than casein-heavy options close to a session.

The programme is built around where you are in your injection cycle, your energy on any given week, and your nutrition — including culturally relevant guidance on hitting adequate protein without overhauling everything you eat.
